Looking for a fun night out that's more interactive than dinner and a movie? The Social Dance League is a four-week, beginner-friendly experience designed to help everyday people discover the fun of social dancing in a relaxed, welcoming environment.

No partner? No problem.
No dance experience? Even better!

Whether you're coming on your own, bringing a date, or gathering a group of friends, you'll learn new skills, meet great people, and enjoy an evening full of music, movement, and connection.

Your Evening Schedule

6:00–7:00 PM

  • Two 30-minute beginner-friendly dance lessons taught by Kimberley Mitchell, British and American National Ballroom Champion.

7:00–9:00 PM

  • Two-hour social dance party hosted by Craig Mills, giving you plenty of time to practice what you've learned, meet new people, and simply enjoy dancing in a fun, supportive atmosphere.

Four Weeks of Fun

Weeks 1–3

Each week includes:

  • Two 30-minute dance lessons

  • Two-hour social dance party

Every week builds on the last while remaining welcoming for newcomers, so even if you're joining for the first time, you'll feel right at home.

Week 4 – Social Dance League Competition Night

Celebrate everything you've learned with a fun, encouraging competition followed by our social dance party.

Your $15 admission includes one complimentary competition entry.

You may compete in up to four dance categories total by purchasing up to three additional entries for $10 each.

Competition Categories

  • Two-Step

  • Country Swing

  • West Coast Swing

  • Line Dance to "I Didn't Come Here to Leave" by Chris Young

Competition Levels

There are two divisions for every dance:

Beginner

  • For dancers who are new to social dancing and have never competed in a dance competition before.

Advanced

  • For anyone who has previously competed in any dance competition.

You may choose one division per dance based on your experience level. Dancers may enter a maximum of four total dances, with one entry included in admission and up to three additional entries available for purchase.

The goal isn't just to win—it's to challenge yourself, celebrate your progress, and have fun in a supportive, welcoming environment. Awards and prizes will be provided by Oties Tavern and other local business partners.
